Text Messages

Who sends them

Texts come from GameTape, from +1 (844) 820-4263. GameTape is run by Brad Tucker, in California, United States. Sign-in codes you ask for yourself may come from a different number.

How you opt in

When you sign up or sign in with your mobile number, the screen shows an unticked box with these words:

Text me GameTape updates (game-day alerts, invites accepted). Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.

Only if you tick it do we text you updates. We record your answer, the date and time, and the wording you saw. Leaving it unticked never stops you from using GameTape.

What we send

• Game-day alerts for the teams and family you are part of, for example: "GameTape: Wildcats vs Eagles starts at 7:00 PM. Reply STOP to opt out."
• Word that someone accepted your invite, for example: "GameTape: Dana joined your family. Reply STOP to opt out."
• The one-time code when you sign in with your phone number. You asked for it, and it is the only thing that text does.

Invitations to join GameTape are never sent from our number. They go from your own phone's Messages app, as a link, when you choose to send one.

Your choices

• Reply STOP to any GameTape text and we will not text that number again.
• Reply HELP for help, or write to hello@gametapeapp.com.
• Message frequency varies: no more than a few texts a week during your season, and none when nothing is happening.
• Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your number

We use your number to deliver the texts above and nothing else. We never share or sell mobile numbers, or your consent to receive texts, with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. The rest of what we hold and how we protect it is in our Privacy Policy; the rules for using GameTape are in our Terms.
